Summer Theatre Lecture Series

"Understanding Classical Theatre" is designed to educate, engage, and inspire audiences of all ages through accessible, high-quality lectures and workshops on classical theatre. The series will be hosted by Avenue Road Music and Performance Academy and will run weekly through July 2025.

August 7th: The Birth of Drama: Greek Theatre, The Perfect Republic, & The Impulse to Play.  Lecturer - Max Ackerman    

August 14th: The Play’s the Thing: Shakespeare & Humanism.  Lecturer - Max Ackerman    

August 21st: Into the Mystic: Realism, Symbolism, and the Journey Into the Absurd.  Lecturer - Max Ackerman
